ANDRÉ SCHIRMER - Download PDF here
1942, Montréal, Québec, Canada
The urban scene and bustling city-scapes are what bring the canvases of André Schirmer to life. Schirmer is an artist that explores the relationship that exists in human interaction in urban environments, and the moments captured within a specific time and place. Between the flickering of city lights and everyday faces, Schirmer plays with these elements and combines them to the expression of his subjects.
André Schirmer currently works as a designer, graphic illustrator, and painting artist. He began his artistic career in 1967 after studying at the École des Beaux Arts in Montreal. While at the Beaux arts, Schirmer focused on landscape painting, and worked with live models while studying the human body. His style is abstract, he primarily works with acrylic paint, oil pastels.
